Links I Love {37}

Yesterday we spent the morning at the Public Gardens and they were gorgeous! Seriously if you ever come to Boston, Springtime is so pretty and it’s not too hot!

ONE // I just got this shirt from Gap and I know I'll be living in it these warmer months! It's thick enough to not need an undershirt and the sleeves are a perfect length!

TWO // We did this science experiment at preschool this week and the kids loved it!

THREE // These sandals have also been a staple for me ever since the weather has warmed up!

FOUR // If you listen to any podcast I recommend this is the one to! It's so important for everyone to listen to!

FIVE // B has started requesting meals for dinner and Trader Joe's Orange Chicken is always at the top of his list!

Happy Friday!

Jean Jacket:Old (similar)

The past two weeks have been full of family time, sightseeing in NYC and Boston, and not sticking to a schedule! It's been great!

We are FINALLY getting blossoms on trees and it makes me so happy! Hopefully the weather will start feeling like spring as well!

ONE // I'm thinking of making this chore chart for B. Just so he can be more accountable for doing his jobs!

TWO // I read this article on mentally strong people and I think it's a great read for everyone!

THREE // This dress and this one are so cute and springy!

FOUR // I've been looking for a swimsuit cover up and I think a romper like this is a great option!

FIVE // There are constantly shoes by our front door and I think this might be the perfect solution to the problem!

Happy Friday!

Sandal Weather

Sweater: Primark (similar)
Jeans: Old Navy (similar)

We just returned home from a fun trip to New York City! I thought Boston was a big city, but it's small in comparison. We packed so much into the two full days we were there and I'll be sharing more on our trip in the coming weeks.

Today is the first day it's gotten over 60 degrees since February and I'm definitely taking advantage of it and wearing sandals! Tomorrow we have family coming into town and we can't wait to do some sightseeing with them!

Happy Friday!

Where is Spring?!? + Life Update

This winter has lasted forever! I thought it would start warming up this month but we've gotten FOUR nor'easters in the past three weeks, with the last two bringing snow!

We found out recently that B will be in school full time next year and I'm feeling a little stressed to make sure I teach him everything he needs to know to go out in the world. Does anyone else feel this way when their oldest starts school?? My husband also commented on how once he starts school, he'll be going for the next 20+ years....that seems like so long!

Baby E is looking like a toddler more and more every day! He's getting stockier and taller, can roar like a lion (it's the funniest thing), and is always into trouble!

My husband and I are both ready for intern year to be done. Only three months left of this craziness and then hopefully it will calm down!

One Skirt, Three Ways

I got the adorable skirt for Christmas and at first didn't know what top I would wear with it. It's sometimes hard to figure out what color of top to wear with multi-colored skirts.

Here's the secret: Pick one or two colors from the skirt and find a top that matches! Neutral colors go with almost anything, so you can't lose with neutral. (I'm considering the chambray shirt as a neutral because it goes with anything!)

Favorite Things// Nail Polish

Today I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea. We are talking about one of the best things in the world...NAIL POLISH! Painting your nail totally changes what your hands and feet look like. I worked at day spa for a couple years doing manicures and pedicures. My favorite part was painting the nails! It was always fun to see what colors people would pick. We also had glitter there to put on the nails and that always looked pretty.

This is one of my favorite nail colors!
Vinylux Negligee

As mentioned in a past post(find it here), I love Vinylux polish! Light pinks are definitely a nail trend that I hope stays in forever!
Here another of my favorite colors, it looks really pink in the picture but its a more coral color and is perfect for summer!
OPI Cajun Shrimp
I normally don't wear green polish on my fingernails, but this is a shade I would consider wearing:)
OPI Gargantuan Green Grape

Fashion Friday// Wedges, plus more!

It is finally Friday! This week has been busy for my husband, which means Baby B and I haven't seen him very much this week. Tomorrow is busy for both of us but just the thought of it being the weekend makes life a little easier:)
1.....
As I was getting ready for church on Sunday, I realized my only pair of wedges were breaking. I love the bottom middle pair:) All of these are $30 or less each!

1/2/3
4/5/6
7/8/9
2.....
I recently bought a sample size of this mascara and it is amazing! It's the best I've used in a long time!

3....
I got an email from the store, Cosmoprof, where I buy my nail polish and hair products, and if I took their survey they would give me basically $5 towards any product! So be looking for my new nail color in a post to come!

4....
I LOVE these evil, yummy things! I try not to eat very much sugar but these are an exception to the rule! I love all Easter candy!
5....
This weekend is my church's General Women's Meeting. It happens twice a year and we get to hear from our Prophet and other church leaders. I always love hearing the messages they have to share to help me better my life.

Have a great weekend!

Oh the wonderful things flour and water can do!

Baby B got the book "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" by Dr. Seuss for Christmas.
We read it multiple times a day. Recently I feel like lots of stuff has come up missing: the TV remote, socks, toys, and most recently, this book! I am a pretty organized person and it is driving me crazy that I cannot find it. We live in a pretty small town home, so its got to be some where! That's how I came up with the title because I have actually missed reading this book:)
Today I'm linking up with Cindy at Skip to my Lou for
STRING EGGS
I have seen this pin on Pinterest for a few years and it was actually in my Easter board since I first saw it.

Well, I finally got around to making the string eggs and it was a lot more time consuming than I thought it would be!
Here is a list of things you will need:
-wax paper
-water balloons
-embroidery floss
-4 cups  water
-1 cup flour
-string or yarn

1)In a saucepan, whisk the flour and water together on medium-high heat until all the clumps are gone. Continue stirring until it begins to boil and remove from heat. Let cool.
2)Place wax paper on the surface you are working on and blow up balloons about 2-4 inches-depending on how big you want your eggs.
3)Cut the embroidery floss in to 3-4 foot lengths.
4)Here's the hard part:) With each 3-4 foot piece, there are 6 individual strings, separate that to make two strands. Each containing 3 individual strings. (Some colors were easier to separate, so on some eggs  we ended up not separating the strands. It just used more embroidery floss that way.)
5) Dunk a strand into the water and flour mixture and remove, wiping the excess off.
6)Wrap around balloon in what ever design you want the egg to have.
7)Tie a piece of yarn/string around end of balloon and hang up to dry.
8)After it is completely dry, pop the balloon. The balloon might not pop if you have too much dried flour-water mixture on it. If this happens you will have to pick each hole with a needle. (Like picture below)
Some of our eggs didn't turn out...right pink one.
But thankfully, most of them did! I love how the yellow and white ones look!
You can put them in a basket, on a wreath, or make a garland! The possibilities are endless!

Happy crafting!
