I'm back to blogging this week! Last week was not our best week. We were in survival mode! All I'll say is this winter has not been the best for us because of how much we've been getting sick.

I am so happy for a new week with everyone in our family being healthy!

I think the only thing that's kept us sane lately is Netflix, great friends to play with, and pulling out toys that were never unpacked when we moved to Boston. B was looking through one of his photo books and saw a tent that he hasn't played with in a long time. So I pulled it out and it's provided hours of entertainment!

I mentioned Lucy Avenue Boutique a couple weeks ago and I have to tell you more about them! They have so many cute and affordable clothes! Please go and check them out! Here's their website & Instagram. They also are giving you all this code BRUSHING10 for 10% off your next order!

Have a happy Monday friends!!

There has been a lot going on in my life that I haven't really talked about on the blog. I want this space to be happy and lighthearted, but in reality that's not how life always is.

I have always considered myself a worrier. For example in elementary school I would get homework on a Monday and it wouldn't be due until Friday but I would have to get it done that night or else it was the end of the world.

That was just the start of it and since having my kids it has gotten worse with each one. I was becoming such a mean mom- I was irritated with my kids all the time for the littlest things like B asking me a simple question. I also hated driving when I used to enjoy it. I didn't want to do things or go places in fear of something bad happening, and I would get anxiety over getting anxious. It's a vicious cycle! I began to think what I was dealing with was something that couldn't get fixed and I tried to deal with it the best I could with a positive attitude and exercise.

We moved to Boston, my husband started his residency and I knew I was in over my head. I needed to get my life back on track if I was going to be able to take care of my kids by myself with my husband working so many hours.

I was terrified to go to the doctor, partially because I didn't know if I wanted to admit that I had something wrong with me especially with it being all mental. On the day of my appointment I had barely gotten back to the exam room and I was already crying. I thought for sure they thought I was crazy! Thankfully I saw an amazing doctor who listened to my situation and reassured me that major life changes such as moving, having a baby, starting new jobs, etc. can all bring on anxiety. She put me on some medication and it was a little hard adjusting to it at first but it has changed my life! I've been seeing a therapist to get tools on how to cope with my anxiety and I try to exercise regularly.

I still have bad days but I am able to think clearer and not worry so much. I am so much happier and I never thought I'd say this but I LOVE living in Boston!

I'm not saying that everyone should get on anxiety medicine or see a therapist, but it was something I needed to do to become a happier and healthier wife, mom, and person in general.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or if you can relate with me. Life can be so tough but when we have the support of one another it makes the biggest difference!

Love you guys!

This week has been the slowest and most productive week ever...how is that even possible! Haha

The boys have had fevers the past few days and all of us have colds except for my husband- Hopefully it stays that way! Because of being cooped up inside I've gotten so much cleaning and organizing done! I'm wanting to get rid of some toys before Christmas and B's birthday but I can't decide which ones should go. It seems like all of them are played with at one time or another. Any suggestions??

Daylight savings has also messed with our sleep schedules because Baby E thinks he needs to be up at 5:00am every day since! We're struggling!

Hopefully your week is going better than ours!:)

Fall Momiform + Real Life

Floral Sweater- Old

Last week Baby E turned one and we had family in town! It was a busy and fun week!

Life is crazy and it just keeps on going! I'm realizing that you can keep on waiting for it to slow down or get on board and enjoy the crazy ride! Even though we don't see my husband for more than a few hours every week, I'm loving the stages my boys are in and all that we get to do and see in Boston!

I have been wanting to mention to you that while I love taking these outfit pictures, please realize that I hardly ever look this put together in real life, especially on days we aren't leaving the house! You probably wouldn't have recognized me if you saw me drop my sister-in-law off at the airport the other morning! Haha!

I hope your Halloween is great and I’ll be back on Wednesday to share the boy’s Halloween costumes!

Hard is Good!

Top- Kohl's

I recently listened to this talk and the main thing I got out of it is doing hard things is GOOD!

Of course nobody likes having to do things that are hard and uncomfortable, but for some reason lately I've been realizing that by doing and going through these challenging experiences I've grow so much more and become the wife/mother/woman I want to be! Without these experiences I may not be that same person, I'm not saying that I'm perfect, far from it in fact, I'm just saying that I'm better and more capable than I was before.

It has been amazing to reflect back over the last year or so and see how far I've come in my personal growth by doing some hard things.

We all have our own levels of hard and it’s never good to compare your trials. So don’t even try to wonder why someone’s trial seems easier than yours!

One of my favorite parts of the talk is this:
"In the world of nature, hard is part of the circle of life. It is hard for a baby chick to hatch out of that tough eggshell. But when someone tries to make it easier, the chick does not develop the strength necessary to live. In a similar way, the struggle of a butterfly to escape the cocoon stregthens it for the life it will live. Through these examples, we see that hard is the constant! We all have challenges. The variable is our reaction to the hard."

In my recent growth what has made the biggest difference to me is trying to react more positively to the hard situations!

I have to end with this amazing quote by Thomas S. Monson:
“May we ever choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong.”

Love you guys!

At-Home Preschool Update

We are almost done with our third week of at-home preschooling and I thought it needed an update on here!

The first day was rough....B didn't want to do anything I asked. Since then he has gotten used to me being his teacher and has been pretty eager to learn. Once our hour or so of preschool ends he always gets a little disappointed because he wants to do more, which is a good sign and encourages me to want to keep teaching him!

I found out a couple weeks ago that B could possibly be going to Kindergarten next year because in Boston they give you the option of doing two years of Kindergarten. It made me so sad thinking that this might be the last year I have B home with me all the time, but I do think it will be good for him to be in a more social setting. So we'll see what happens!

Your best is good enough!

My Shirt c/o Lexi's Loft
Baby E's Onesie c/o Lexi's Loft

Lately I've been listening to podcasts while getting ready for the day. One of my favorites is the Extraordinary Moms Podcast. It's always so uplifting and enlightening to hear about how other moms do life! This week I listened to this episode with Shannon Tripp and I felt like everything she was saying was directed towards me!

Here's some of the key points I loved and you'll have to go listen to it yourself to hear the rest!

-Your best is good enough!! Your kids need you and what you can give them. Don't compare what other moms are doing with their kids - You are enough for your own kids!

-We cannot be perfect - it's not realistic so don't have the mom guilt.

- Allow yourself to be happy for other moms and their victories. Let your kids see you being a positive and happy person!

Happy listening!!
Let me know what you loved about it and if there's other podcasts you'd think I'd enjoy!!
