A Lesson Learned

Sweater - Kohl's (Sold out)
Pants - Primark
Shoes - Similar

Photos by Kristina Sponseller

This post has nothing to do with these pictures! I just love this sweater and had to share it with you all!

Yesterday I had good intentions to workout and was only ten minutes in when Baby E dropped a weight on my ring finger. I cried for a good ten minutes. It hurt so bad!

My finger swelled up and bruised pretty quickly so I decided to go to the doctor and make sure it wasn't broken. It was kind of a wasted appointment because there's not much they can do unless the swelling doesn't go down, then I have to go back in for an x-ray.

So lesson learned is to not workout while Baby E is awake and keep all weights far away from him!

Weekend in Keene, New Hampshire

My husband's easy rotation ends in less than a week so we decided to take a trip up to Keene, New Hampshire last weekend and have fun in the snow!

We left on Friday afternoon and once we got there we found a hiking trail to pull the boys on their sleds.

B was so excited to be staying at a hotel. He and Baby E had so much fun exploring and playing in the room. We even lost one of Baby E's shoes and had to leave without it.

On Saturday morning we watched an ice sculpture being made outside, napped (Baby E wakes up so early!), and hung out.

Once we checked out of the hotel we headed to the ski resort Granite Gorge to cross country ski! Everyone got skis except Baby E. B only lasted 5 minutes on his skis but luckily we didn't have to pay for him so it was okay!

The boys did great riding in the sleds for about an hour and then there was so much crying because of the cold, so we headed back to the lodge.

Baby E was SO happy to be back in the car!

After skiing we went back to downtown Keene to check out the other ice sculptures and then we headed home!

We may have been a little crazy for taking two kids cross country skiing, but I'm sure we'll look back at this trip and only remember the good moments!:)

I'm back to blogging this week! Last week was not our best week. We were in survival mode! All I'll say is this winter has not been the best for us because of how much we've been getting sick.

I am so happy for a new week with everyone in our family being healthy!

I think the only thing that's kept us sane lately is Netflix, great friends to play with, and pulling out toys that were never unpacked when we moved to Boston. B was looking through one of his photo books and saw a tent that he hasn't played with in a long time. So I pulled it out and it's provided hours of entertainment!

I mentioned Lucy Avenue Boutique a couple weeks ago and I have to tell you more about them! They have so many cute and affordable clothes! Please go and check them out! Here's their website & Instagram. They also are giving you all this code BRUSHING10 for 10% off your next order!

Have a happy Monday friends!!

Life Lately

Hey, hey!!

I just wanted to stop by and say hi!

I really have nothing important to tell you because our lives have been pretty boring lately! My husband has been home more often on his current rotation and I have been able to run errands a couple times by myself-It's been so great!

B surprised us with being able to spell off and on all by himself! I guess I won't be able to spell things out loud to my husband without B knowing what I'm saying for too much longer.

Baby E likes to party in the early morning hours and it's killing me! Good thing he's cute, but he needs to grow out of this ASAP!

Anyways, I hope you have an amazing day! We'll be playing in the snow!

Two Types of Winter Coats You Need in your Closet

Outfit 1: Puffer Coat - Similar
Booties - Target
Outfit 2: Coat - Similar
Scarf - Similar (Under $12!)

While we lived in Virginia I hardly ever wore coats and I was so tempted to get rid of all of them! I'm so glad I didn't because I'm actually putting them to good use here in New England!

The first coat pictured, I got on major sale the end of last winter for only $30! It has saved me this winter so far! I usually reach for it during the week when I'm running errands or going outside when the boys need some fresh air and more space to run around.

I have been wearing the second coat when I'm wanting to look more dressed up. I love wearing this one to church or on our rare date nights!

I guess what I'm trying to get at in this post is that you only need a puffer coat and a dressy coat in your closet! Haha I've been getting rid of so many things in my closet and trying to declutter that this was a little pep talk for myself to get rid of coats I hardly wear!

Well I'm off to a cookie exchange and to declutter some more!

Tee c/o Lexi's Loft
Coat - Similar
Jeans - Primark
Booties - Target

This weekend we got our first snowfall of the season! B thought that that meant it was Christmas Eve, but sadly for him we still have a couple weeks!

This tee pretty much sums up my life this month! haha Who else has been obsessed with watching cheesy Christmas movies!? Please tell me I'm not the only one!

My favorite one I've watched this year has been Christmas in the Smokies. It's such a cheesy, feel good movie!

What other ones do you love?!?

TRENDING: Chunky Knit Blankets

Being comfortable while at home is very important to me. That includes having lots of blankets easily accessible and comfy pants on 80% of the time! We always have at least two blankets in the living room being used multiple times a day.

I have been on the lookout for a chunky knit blanket and I've found one that I love! It's made of Merino Wool which isn't itchy like normal wool! It's also antibacterial, odor resistant, and regulates body temperature!

Megan (the owner of JOMO Blankets) does beautiful work hand knitting these blankets. She has 25 different colors to choose from! She’s having a sale on Black Friday (November 24th) and giving you $24 off your order, so mark it on your calendars so you don't miss it!

Be sure to follow JOMO Blankets on Instagram (@jomoblankets) and email her at jomoblankets@gmail.com for sizing, colors, and prices!

Have a happy Monday!
