Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas friends!!

I recently posted this quote on Facebook and it's one of my favorites to remind me the real reason for this time of year.

"Each of us is an innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus." -Neal A. Maxwell

I hope we can all make room for Christ in our lives, not only now but every day of the year!

I'll be taking next week off to spend time with my family! See you in 2018!!

What we're eating this week: Costco hot dogs, Tacos, and who know's what else!

What I'm reminiscing about: Spending the holidays with our families in Idaho last year and hoping for a white Christmas this year!

What I'm loving: Raspberry Rolls! This is the only time of year we make them and they are so good!

What we've been up to: Getting all the Christmas festivities in that we can!

What I'm dreading: For the Christmas season to be over.

What I'm working on: Last minute shopping and planning our Christmas dinner menu!

What I'm watching: All the Christmas movies! My favorites this year have been The Christmas Prince and Christmas in the Smokies. Both are on Netflix!

What I'm reading: I recently read The Broken Road by Richard Paul Evans and I'm a huge fan of his books!

What I'm listening to: Silence- both boys are in bed!

What I'm wearing: Chunky Sweaters and Warm Coats!

What I'm doing this weekend: My brother and sister-in-law are flying in for Christmas and we are so excited!!

What I'm looking forward to next month: Eating healthier! Haha This time of year is so hard for me!

What else is new: B turns four the end of the month! We can't wait to celebrate him!

Christmas Time in the City + Links I Love {30}

Baby E's Tee c/o Lexi's Loft

Last week we took the T downtown and everything was transformed into Christmas! We can't wait to see it all at night. Hopefully that will happen soon!

ONE // My favorite idea I've heard of for stocking stuffers! I would have never thought of using the five senses to fill stockings with!

TWO // I've gotten most of my Christmas decor on clearance after the holidays. It's the smartest way to do it in my opinion! Here's something I'm wanting to add to my decor for next year!

THREE // These stockings have been on my radar for a couple years now but I haven't wanted to get them quite yet...Maybe when we're finally done with school:)

FOUR // I took these to a cookie exchange this week and they were so simple to make! They were also something different than just taking another cookie.

FIVE // My favorite scent this time of year!

This weekend we got our first snowfall of the season! B thought that that meant it was Christmas Eve, but sadly for him we still have a couple weeks!

This tee pretty much sums up my life this month! haha Who else has been obsessed with watching cheesy Christmas movies!? Please tell me I'm not the only one!

My favorite one I've watched this year has been Christmas in the Smokies. It's such a cheesy, feel good movie!

Christmas Corner

Vintage truck sign c/o Six Twenty Two
Nativity - Target (Only $10)
Bottle Brush Trees - Target Dollar Section
My Sweater - Old (Similar)

Christmas is up at our house! Actually it's been up since before Thanksgiving and I don't feel bad about it at all!

Thanks for all the suggestions on our Christmas card in my last post. It's always a struggle! haha #firstworldproblem

My favorite spot in our little apartment right now is this corner with the tree, nativity, and this sign! If only you saw it at night with the tree twinkling away! So pretty! We wrapped some presents yesterday afternoon while Baby E napped and within him being awake for about an hour he had already unwrapped a present!

If you thought the truck sign was adorable you should look at the rest of Six Twenty Two's Christmas signs! I’m also obsessed with this one and need it in the kids bathroom! Haha Any other boy moms that can relate?!?

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to follow Six Twenty Two on Instagram(@six.twenty.two)! She's also having a sale right now - 20% off your order until November 30th (no code needed)!

Happy Monday!

Christmas Card Suggestions

Why is picking a Christmas card design so difficult?!?

I always look forward to sending out Christmas cards and getting them from friends and family! The hardest part for me is picking out a design. It takes me a couple days at the very least to make a final decision!

I usually go through Shutterfly but I wanted a different look that I couldn't find on there. I found Orange Blossom Press on Esty and I love the style of Tara's designs. I love the floral watercolor designs! Which card style is your favorite?

If you're still needing to order your Christmas cards, Tara's offering 10% off your entire order with the code: BOWTL10. Offer good until Dec. 15th!

Gift Ideas for 3-4 Year Old Boys

This year has been so fun to shop for B! He's finally at the age where he can play with bigger kid toys and he also has been asking for certain things which can be either good or bad! This year his most requested thing has been a spinner...kind of random but really easy to get!

Here's some ideas I've thought of for this age group:
Magnetic letters
Tee ball set
Foam airplanes
Letter blocks
Cootie game
Magformers
Sandbox
Learn to Read Books

Gift Ideas for 1 Year Olds

I'll be honest, I usually don't like it when bloggers make gift guides.

It seems like most of the stuff is either useless (in my opinion) or out of my price range. But here I am sharing some gift giving ideas because I had the hardest time thinking of things to get Baby E for his birthday and now that it's finally time to start thinking of Christmas shopping, I know the struggle that moms can have with this age!

Here's a couple ideas I had and I'd love to hear your suggestions in the comments below!
finger puppets
toothbrush
stacking cups
balls
tunnel
ball tower
simple puzzles

I hope this helps!

Winter Break Highlights

We are finally getting caught up from being with our families during the holidays! It always amazes me all the stuff we end up bringing back, even in the summer time when we visit we bring back more than we took!

Here are some highlights from our trip:
Baby E was blessed and we were so lucky to have our families there for it!

Lots of wrestling and playing with Aunts and Uncles!

Baby E met lots of family and got lots of snuggles! He doesn't look thrilled but he is:)

Christmas morning was great and B is in love with the train Santa brought him!

SO.MUCH.SNOW!! Which is a little unusual for our part of Idaho. There was snow the entire time we were there! It was great!

Our big 3 year old! B and Uncle G share a birthday and it was the first time they got to celebrate it together!

Visiting dental school friends! We lived in the same apartment complex our first three years of dental school and we miss them a lot!

We loved our time spent with our families and friends!

Christmas Tag {Part 2}

You can read Part 1 HERE!

13) Favorite Christmas book- Richard Paul Evans always comes out with a new book every Christmas season and I really like reading them each year!

14) Real or artificial tree? Artificial right now but eventually a real one would be fun to get when our kids are older!

15) The best gift you've given- This year I'm really excited for the present B and my husband are getting!!

16) Hardest person to buy for? My husband is pretty difficult to buy for because he never wants anything more exciting than socks!

17) Post a picture of an old Christmas card. This is from 2013 when I was pregnant with B!

18) When do you open gifts? Christmas morning!

19) Favorite stocking stuffer- Anything girly-makeup, lotions, etc.

20) Favorite Christmas meal- All food tastes better on holidays;) But Raspberry Rolls are pretty high on the list, as well as the ham we eat at dinner!

21) Do you travel on the holidays? Yes. Ever since I graduated high school I have always had to travel home for the holidays, except for the year I was pregnant with B was the only year we stayed at home.

22) Eggnog or hot chocolate? Hot Chocolate

23) Your plans for Christmas- Opening presents, Going to church, Skyping our brothers who are on missions in Argentina and St. Louis, Missouri, and spending time with our families!

24) Favorite Christmas Eve tradition- We always do different things on Christmas Eve depending on whose family we are with but we always read the Christmas story. We also have decorated graham cracker houses, sang carols, looked at lights, and other Christmasy things on Christmas Eve!

I hope your Christmas is wonderful!!

Christmas Tag {Part 1}

With Christmas almost here, I thought I would share some of my holiday favorites with all of you!

1) Your favorite Christmas movie- White Christmas, I watched this movie every year growing up and love it, mostly because of the songs:)

2) Your Christmas wish list- Clothes, these Converse shoes, resistant bands...Stuff like this :)

3) When/how did you learn that Santa wasn't real? We have two boys, so...Santa is real!

4) Favorite Christmas song- I love all of them, but this one is listened to frequently.

5) Best gift you've ever received- A tamagotchi! I played with that thing for so long!

6) Your favorite tree ornament- For each of my kids so far I have put their hospital hat and wristband inside a clear ornament. Then I put their name on the outside with vinyl.

7) Most memorable Christmas- When my brother (who is two years younger than me) got his appendix out on Christmas Eve. We were all so surprised when Santa knew he was in the hospital and still got his presents to him! ;)

8) Post a picture of Christmas decor- All my decoration pictures are found in this post!

9) Easiest person to buy for? Baby E is probably the easiest person this year because he has no idea what is going on and doesn't really need much!

10) Favorite holiday scent- Fresh cut trees and cookies!

11) Favorite Christmas tradition- All of Christmas Traditions can be found in this post!

12) Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper! It's so much more fun to open gifts wrapped in paper!

Come back tomorrow for part 2!
