New Hobby

You guys! I have a new hobby and it involves makeup!!

As you know last month I did a review on LipSense and I fell in love with the product! To be honest it took a few weeks for me to really love it, but now I'm never going back to any other lip color! (I won't be spamming this blog with LipSense after this post, so if you want to get info on sales and new colors join my Facebook page: Kissable Lips with Lindsey!)

After having one color, I wanted to get more and the best way for me to be able to get more was to become a LipSense distributor! Plus I wanted to share with everyone this amazing product!

There are so many gorgeous colors, no matter if you like bright or neutral lips there's a color for you! My favorite so far is Apple Cider! It's the perfect neutral color!

Here I am in Sheer Pink!

And in Cappuccino!
All of the lip colors can be found on my Facebook page: Kissable Lips with Lindsey

If you are interested here are some awesome perks of being a distributor:

Long Lasting Lips

I'm sure you all have heard of LipSense by now, but have you tried it yet?!?!
I was recently asked by my good friend and former beauty school teacher Nancy to try it for the first time. I can see why everyone loves it so much!

 Here's a quick rundown on why it's so awesome. There are so many beautiful colors (I'm wearing Cappuccino!) and it lasts up to 18 hours! It's kiss proof, smudge proof, and waterproof! It's also really easy to apply!
One thing I didn't realize about LipSense is that your lips go through an exfoliating process when using this product. It works with your PH and exfoliates the old wax build up and dry skin off of your lips to actually heal them! There is definitely a learning curve when you first start using this product. You CANNOT use chapstick or any waxy lip products and get great results. You must use the gloss (or LipSense balm) even when there is no lip color on your lips to prevent build up, which then would start the exfoliation process over. Once my lips went through the exfoliating process I could tell that they were much softer and the color stayed on longer!

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wears any lip color! Just know that you have to be committed to putting the gloss on multiple times a day!

Right now Nancy is offering you 10% off your first order!
You can follow Fancy Lips with Nancy on Facebook or Instagram to purchase and find out more!

I was given LipSense to try and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Recent Beauty Favorites

In all reality I want to think that the weather is cooling down, but it's not over here on the East Coast. We are still melting in sweat from the humidity! To embrace our extended summer weather I'm sharing a few new products (and one old one) that I discovered this summer and love!

Anastasia Brow Definer: This brow pencil is on the higher end side but it is very worth it! I used to use the Brow Wiz which is very similar, but I am loving the thicker pencil and quicker application! I use the shade Taupe and it's the perfect cool color for all you blondes!

Burt's Bee Lip Stick-Shade-Iced Iris: I have always thought highly of the Burt's Bee brand and this has lived up to it.  I was looking for a little color for my lips and this shade does a great job of adding it without feeling too over the top. It feels like a chap stick once applied and isn't drying at all!

Remedy Cuticle Oil: This summer my toenail polish wasn't lasting as long and the skin around my nails was dry looking. I found this cuticle oil at my local beauty supply store and it has been a game changer! It refreshes the look of my nails and keeps my polish going strong!

Suave Dry Shampoo: I wash my hair about once a week and with it being summer I was worried I would need to wash it more, but I was wrong! This dry shampoo kept my hair looking oil-free and never left it feeling weighed down! There's no use buying the expensive stuff when you can get this dry shampoo for under $5!

What products are you loving lately?!?!

Nivea Men as a Primer

A couple of weeks ago in my weekly Links I Love post, I told you that I had heard many people raving about this men's product being used as a face primer. I definitely was a little skeptical, but I've given Nivea Men Post Shave Balm a try and here's my thoughts on it!

PROS // It smells really good and is very lightweight. My makeup does seem to soak into my skin better when I use it, making it look more natural. Good price point for a primer.

CONS // It doesn't hid pores very well. The bottle is glass, so it's not very ideal for traveling.

I honestly have used better primers, but this one is definitely worth looking into if you aren't trying to hide large pores or are just getting into face primers. I will probably purchase this one again because of being on a student's budget!

Have you tried this primer before? What did you think?

Day to Night Makeup

We are getting so close to Valentine's Day (which is also my half birthday!) and I thought I would share an easy day to night makeup look. I usually wear makeup everyday and I found myself going all out on my makeup in the morning because I thought it would be too time consuming to add more later if I was going somewhere that night.

I figured out a way, where it's quick and simple to go from daytime mom to date night wife! Here's how: I added darker eye shadow to the crease of my eyelids; contoured my cheekbones with bronzer, and added darker lip gloss. How simple was that! Try it out next time you are going out and let me know what you thought!

Products Used:
Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
Maybelline The Elixir- Rose

Maskcara IIID Foundation

You guys! I found the perfect foundation for contouring!
I had been looking for a new foundation for a while and I saw some videos of Cara using her IIID Foundation and I knew I needed to try it! I loved the idea of using foundation to couture and cutting down time in my morning routine!

 I thought about it for about a month before buying the makeup and I don't think I could ever go back! The application is so simple and it lasts all..day..long!

The dark color (walnut) is used under the cheekbone, jawbone, forehead, and nose to give your face more dimension. This color is used the same way bronzer is used but it's better because it's part of your foundation!

The lighter color (linen) is used everywhere else. It's a little thicker than the walnut shade and covers blemishes and redness quite well. I have dark circles under my eyes and this stuff hides them well, as well as highlights your face to make you glow! (Someone asked if I was pregnant because they said I was glowing...it was definitely the makeup!)

The blush is for the apples of your cheeks and can be used on your lips.

The highlighter is amazing and makes you glow even more! It's applied under your eyebrow, cupid's bow, nose, and tops of cheekbones or anywhere else you want to accentuate!
I also got the 30 Second HAC Brush and it's the best, but not required for using this product!

Have you tried this foundation before? What did you think?

My Makeup {Tools}

This is the last post of My Makeup series. It has been so fun hearing what makeup you love! There are so many great kinds out there and I wish I could try them all!

One of the most important things when applying makeup is to make sure you have the right tools. Brushes can help make applying your makeup so much easier and an eyelash curler helps makes your eyes pop!

 Below are my current tools that I use while applying makeup.
*This post contains affiliate links.

L'Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray: I received this setting spray in my Target Beauty Box in April and have used it almost daily. I love knowing that my makeup is staying put! It's a must have for anyone!

Beauty Blender: I have watched multiple YouTube videos with people using Beauty Blenders and I had to see what it was all about. They are expensive, but it is totally worth it! It blends your foundation in perfectly while putting moisture back into your skin. Another must have!

Q-tips: I dip a q-tip in Vaseline and remove any makeup around my eyes after I shower. I also use them when I need to fix eyeliner or remove unwanted mascara on my eye area.

Eyelash curler: I believe every girl needs an eyelash curler! You can find them at the checkout line at Old Navy or nearly any store for really cheap! I curl my lashes right before putting on mascara. It's also important to change the black pads in them every month or two because it makes a difference in how well it curls.

Tweezers: Of course I use these to pluck my eyebrows in between waxing. I usually don't have to pluck a lot, just enough to not have crazy brows until it get around to waxing again.

CAO brush set:  I got this brush set in beauty school. It has worked great for many years and has all of the important brushes. It also came in this great carrying case! I have looked at different brushes, but they are pretty expensive, so I'll just stick with these for now! I linked a Sigma brush set because I couldn't find this one. Sigma is a pretty popular brand and I would buy this brand of brushes.
What are your must have makeup tools?

My Makeup {Brows & Eyeliner}

Raise your hand if you love nicely filled brows! It took me a while to get on the eyebrow train, but ever since I started filling mine in, I can't go a day without doing itIt's also a rare accurance for me to go a day without eyeliner. Below are the current eyeliners and brow pencils I currently use.

Sorme Natural Definitive Brow Pencil: Soft Blonde: This pencil does a great job filling in my eyebrows without making them look fake. There's also a built in brush on the cap which is convenient. I've heard lots of great things about Anastasia Brow Whiz. It is on my list to try next!

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner: This is the first gel eyeliner that I've tried and I love it! It lasts all day and into the next! It does take a little longer for me to apply than a liquid liner, but with how long it lasts it makes it all worth it!

Covergirl Intensify Me! by Lashblast Liquid Liner: Intense Black: This is the easiest liquid liner you will find! It is so easy to apply and the applicator tip makes it so simple to make thick or thin lines.

What is your favorite product for eyebrows and eyeliner? Let me know in the comments below!

My Makeup {Mascara}

I love a good mascara! Mascara makes such a big difference on how your eyes look. They can make you look more awake and helps your eyes stand out.

*This post contains affiliate links.

I've tried lots of drugstore mascaras and the Maybelline one is my absolute favorite!

Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express: Glam Black (waterproof): I love, love, love this mascara! I put it over the other two(listed below) and with it being waterproof it keeps them in place with little smudging. I highly recommend it!

Covergirl Super Sizer: Very Black: This one fans my eyelashes out and keeps them from getting clumpy. It gives great volume!

bareMinerals Lash Domination: Intense Black: This is an all around awesome mascara! It would be perfect if it was waterproof. It thickens, lengthens, and makes your eyelashes look great!

What are your favorite mascaras? Do you prefer waterproof or not?

My Makeup {Eyeshadow}

*This post contains affiliate links.
I feel like eyeshadow lasts a long time, so it's important to invest in good quality ones. I have had the same eyeshadow for a while and it's been great, but I've been itching to try some new ones!
Mary Kay cream eye color- shade:Beach Blonde: This works as an eye shadow primer and adds glow to your eyelids. I use it alone or with other eye shadows. I love it!

CAO Eyeshadow pallet: This pallet came with my make up kit in cosmetology school in 2010. I didn't use it for a few years, so that's why it's lasted so long. It's okay eyeshadow, but I'm waiting for it to be used before I buy any other ones. I have my eye on the Urban Decay Naked 2 Pallet:)

Quad from Ulta (gifted):I got this little quad in my stocking at Christmas and I love the gold color in it!

bareMinerals High Shine Eyecolor- Shades:glisten and flash: I love these! They are so simple and quick to put on. Unfortunately they aren't making the colors I have anymore, but they still sell them in a few other colors.

bareMinerals Loose Eyecolor- shades:frills(darker one) and queen marie: I like the pigment these eye shadows give, but they are a little messy with them being loose powder.

What brand of eyeshadow is your favorite? Do you like matte or shiny shadows?

My Makeup {Blush & Bronzer & Highlighter}

*This post contains affiliate links.

A couple weeks ago I posted about my current foundation and concealer that I use and you ladies gave me some great suggestions for a new foundation. Thank you!

 I used to wear lots of bronzer in high school(look at my Senior activity card for proof) and I have definitely toned it down but I still love using products to add color and glow to my face! Here are the ones that I'm currently using!

bare Minerals READY bronzer The High Dive: I got this bronzer a few years ago in a shade that's too dark, but I've learned to not apply very much and it works great! It lasts all day and is great for contouring.

bare Minerals all-over face color Rose radiance : I don't like having super rosy cheeks because I blush a lot already so this is wonderful for giving a shimmery pink color to my cheek bones.

elf baked highlighter- Moonlight Pearls: This was less than $3 and is an awesome highlighter! It gives the perfect amount of glow to your face and lasts all day long!

What do you use for your blush, bronzer, and highlighter? I'd love to know!

My Makeup {Foundation & Concealer}

I love reading what products and makeup other people use. So I decided to do a series of posts on what makeup I wear and also to get suggestions for new products to try! First off, I'm talking about foundation and concealer. I have a love/hate relationship with these products because I wish my skin was clear enough and had zero dark circles under my eyes, BUT I'm so grateful for products like these to make my skin appear flawless!

Mary Kay Primer- I apply this after my moisturizer. It makes my skin so smooth, fills in my pores, and makes a good canvas for my makeup.
.
Covergirl BB Cream- shade: 810. I apply this right after the primer. It's basically a tinted moisturizer and has been great for the summer time because it's so lightweight.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous- shade: Fair. This concealer is okay. I just feel like it's a little runny and with the humidity, it tends to move. I like the applicator wand because it makes it really easy to apply.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer- shade: NC15. This concealer has awesome coverage and stays on ALL day! I watched a YouTube video on highlighting and concealing with this product, so that's why I got it. I think if I found a better foundation to go with it, I would really love it!

bareMinerals SPF Eye Brightener- shade: Well Rested. This is setting powder for under eye concealer and it is great! It really does make you look "well rested." I highly recommend it!

bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation- shade: fair. I apply this powder over the BB cream listed above. It has good coverage and is lightweight.

What foundation and concealer are you currently using? Would you recommend it? I am running low on my foundation and would love suggestions for lightweight, good coverage ones!

Simple Makeup Contouring

Benefits of contouring and highlighting:
-Gives your face an instant shape, by accentuating your cheekbones and jawline.
-Brightens your best features
-Minimizes awkward areas, making them look smaller or leaner.

 Here is a simple way to contour your face without adding a lot of extra time to your makeup routine. I like to call it the "3" method.

The purple in this picture is your darker color, or bronzer, and the blue is your highlighter.

With your bronzer make a "3" on each side of your face. The top of the "3" hitting the top of your forehead and the middle of the "3" hitting below your cheekbone. The bottom of the "3" hitting right under your jaw bone. This will make your face appear leaner and will make your cheekbones POP!.

With your highlighter,apply it on your cheekbones, nose, above your eyebrows, and chin. Only highlight areas you want to draw attention to.

 I simply buy the Basil Pesto and tortellini from Costco. Cook the tortellini and some chicken. Then add your desired amount of Basil Pesto!

High Shine Eyecolor

As a wife of a student, I am always looking for great deals on clothes and especially high quality makeup.
Before I stopped working and became a stay-at-home mom, I used my tip money, from working at the spa, to buy one of these Bare Minerals High Shine Eyecolors and it cost me around $12.
This weekend, while shopping at the outlets, I went into Bare Minerals and found these for $2.50 each! Whoo Hoo! The lady at the store said that they might become discontinued because of the price drop:( So I had to get another one(glisten). The tube lasts so long because a little goes a long ways.
Left-Flash, Right-Glisten-these colors look like they are sold out online but I'm sure you can find them in a store still.
Here is what the applicator looks like:
I am wearing Glisten and it is now my go-to eye shadow!
