Valentine's Decor {Boston}

As promised, here's a look at our Boston apartment decorated for Valentine's Day! Most things are made by myself or friends!

I intended for these candies to last a couple years (as decorations), but Baby E discovered them and asks for them multiple times a day!

I always leave my Christmas cards up until after Valentine's Day because they are from people we love!

At Home Date Nights

This engagement picture popped up on my Facebook feed and I couldn't help but share it with you guys for this post.

Living far from family, the only way we get date nights (besides paying for a babysitter) is to babysit swap with our friends. Since moving to Boston we've found a couple families to swap with a couple times a month and it's been amazing to be able to go on dates again! I highly recommend this to everyone!

For Valentine's Day we probably won't have time to go out on the actual holiday because of my husband's schedule, so my husband and I came up with a list of at home date ideas that we could do instead!

Here's our list!
-Make mini s'mores over a candle with mini marshmallows, small chocolate bars, and Golden Graham cereal. (We did this on our first date:))
-Play card/board games.
-Give each other massages. (My favorite!)
-Eat cold cereal for dinner.
-Watercolor pictures.
-Make your favorite dessert together.
-Read a book together.
-Look up future house designs.

What would be on your list? We always love new ideas!

Butterfly Footprint Valentines Card

Valentine's Day is just a couple weeks away and there's still time to make cards for your loved ones!

Every year I try to have B (and now Baby E) make cards for their grandparents using their hand and/or footprints! They always turn out so cute and B thinks it's so fun to paint himself!:)
This year I found a bunch of paper hearts cut out from a previous craft that I wanted to use, so that's where the inspiration for this card came from!

I was going to use a glue stick and have B glue the hearts on but since I had to mail them I wanted to make sure they actually stuck. So we used these glue dots and now I know they will stay put!

We wrote a little love note on the inside and they were done in no time!

Happy Crafting!

Valentine's Day Decor

One of my favorite colors is pink so I love decorating for Valentine's day because it's the only time of the year it's acceptable to have pink decorations! (Unless it's in a girl's bedroom).

Last year I showed you some of my Valentine's crafts and it was so fun to be able to put them up again this year.

Here's a tour of my Valentine's Day decorations! Enjoy!

How I Style It: Love Struck

Today I'm linking up with Tif at Bright on a Budget for How I Style It: Love Struck date night look!

There's a lot of hype right now about Valentine's Day because it is less than two weeks away! I honestly hated this holiday for the longest time, but now that I'm married it's definitely a lot better!

As you all know by now, our lives have been consumed by a test that my husband has to take to get into oral surgery residency. He takes that test on the 13th of this month and that will be the best Valentine's Day present EVER! He still may have to retake it depending on the score, but I'm hoping and praying it's the last time!

Here's my Valentine's Day look! With it being on a Sunday this year, I'm totally wearing this dress to church! It's pink, lacy and I love it!

Day to Night Makeup

We are getting so close to Valentine's Day (which is also my half birthday!) and I thought I would share an easy day to night makeup look. I usually wear makeup everyday and I found myself going all out on my makeup in the morning because I thought it would be too time consuming to add more later if I was going somewhere that night.

I figured out a way, where it's quick and simple to go from daytime mom to date night wife! Here's how: I added darker eye shadow to the crease of my eyelids; contoured my cheekbones with bronzer, and added darker lip gloss. How simple was that! Try it out next time you are going out and let me know what you thought!

Products Used:
Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
Maybelline The Elixir- Rose

Crafting for Valentine's Day

I have started crafting with some friends every Wednesday afternoon. We have made some cute Valentine decorations.

This block was really simple and I love having one decoration that can be used for two holidays!

*The wording is made of white vinyl.

My friend made this book page banner for me and the corner is ripped off because of my one year old:)
These jars are so adorable and easy to make! We painted primer on the jar first, followed by 3-4 coats of paint. You can sand the jar to give it more of an antiqued look, but I opted not to.
Happy crafting!
