Christmas Corner

Vintage truck sign c/o Six Twenty Two
Nativity - Target (Only $10)
Bottle Brush Trees - Target Dollar Section
My Sweater - Old (Similar)

Christmas is up at our house! Actually it's been up since before Thanksgiving and I don't feel bad about it at all!

Thanks for all the suggestions on our Christmas card in my last post. It's always a struggle! haha #firstworldproblem

My favorite spot in our little apartment right now is this corner with the tree, nativity, and this sign! If only you saw it at night with the tree twinkling away! So pretty! We wrapped some presents yesterday afternoon while Baby E napped and within him being awake for about an hour he had already unwrapped a present!

If you thought the truck sign was adorable you should look at the rest of Six Twenty Two's Christmas signs! I’m also obsessed with this one and need it in the kids bathroom! Haha Any other boy moms that can relate?!?

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to follow Six Twenty Two on Instagram(@six.twenty.two)! She's also having a sale right now - 20% off your order until November 30th (no code needed)!

Happy Monday!

Projects in the Boys Room

Happy Friday!!

Today I'm showing you the boys' room!

Ever since we found out we were moving to Boston, I've been trying to figure out ways to keep things organized and uncluttered because our new apartment isn't that much bigger than our last one. Which is becoming less and less ideal as time goes on, but we're having to sacrifice things the next four years so I'm trying to deal with it (having a positive attitude of course;)!

Sorry to get off on that tangent:) Moving on to the room....

My husband got a wooden crate and cut it in half, painted it and screwed it to the wall! It's awesome and we were able to get rid of a bookshelf by adding these to the walls. Thanks Pinterest!

This dresser was a natural color and at first I was going to paint it white, but then I thought it would look great dark, especially since the crib, toddler bed, and other furniture in the room are dark (it looks darker in this photo than it really is).

I'm really happy with how the shelves and dresser turned out and so glad they are finished!

Show and Tell {Christmas Decor}

Thanks to everyone who entered the Caseapp giveaway!
The winner is.....

Penny Struebig

Congratulations! Look for an email from me to claim your prize!

Can you believe we have less than 20 days until the big day?!?! Most of my shopping is done and my Christmas cards are almost ready to be sent out!

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and showing you my Christmas decorations!
My little apartment looks nothing like out of a magazine so don't have your expectations too high. I do these types of posts because someday I want to look back and remember how simple and great our decorations were our last year in dental school!

 Enjoy!

I bought three new stockings last year, not expecting to have another baby before Christmas. I need to get another one!

Currently these countdown blocks are being used as a train tunnel upstairs and probably will not be used a countdown at all this year! #keepingitreal

I grew up with a nativity advent calendar identical to this one. Last year I made my own so I would have one for my kids!

I love how the entertainment center turned out this year!

Decorating a tree is so much fun with a toddler;)

Setting Up Christmas

It's Christmas time!!

I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! Since moving away from family we have always had Thanksgiving with friends. This year with having a new baby, we decided to keep it small and just do it with our little family. As always, we missed being with our families, but had a great time preparing and eating the food and spending time with each other!

This year we decorated for Christmas a lot earlier than we normally do because of having my mother-in-law here to help with the boys. Now we have four whole weeks to enjoy it before we head out to be with our families for the break!
When we first started putting the ornaments on the tree, I realized it was going to take a lot longer than I thought, especially with a toddler wanting to do most of it. Then I noticed how much fun B was having and that anxiousness went away and I started to enjoy myself more!

B loved putting the ornaments around the bottom of the tree. We eventually spread them out more during his nap, but he quickly noticed what we had done when he woke up! Every day more ornaments seem to be at the bottom of the tree and we all know who's doing it!

I hope your holidays are off to a great start!

Fall Favorites

Yay for fall being right around the corner! Today I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea and sharing what I'm looking forward to this fall!

I'm definitely excited for two things about the fall season this year: Cooler weather and the arrival of our baby!

I'm also excited for all of these leaves to change colors and fall! Something I love about Virginia in the fall is when you're driving and the wind blows the leaves all over the road.
The beginning of this month, B thought he saw a pumpkin at the grocery store and we had to go check it out. It was actually some sort of melon. The day our grocery store starts selling pumpkins, you know we will be there getting B his beloved pumpkin!
I'm really excited to started decorating with pumpkins and fall things and to eat lots of pumpkin treats! It's so fun that B is starting to understand holidays and I can get him excited about them!
This year I'm looking forward to wearing my regular clothes again, even if it's only for a month or two of fall. Bring on the plaid shirts and ankle boots!

Happy Fall!!

Valentine's Day Decor

One of my favorite colors is pink so I love decorating for Valentine's day because it's the only time of the year it's acceptable to have pink decorations! (Unless it's in a girl's bedroom).

Last year I showed you some of my Valentine's crafts and it was so fun to be able to put them up again this year.

Here's a tour of my Valentine's Day decorations! Enjoy!

Floral Trends in the Home

Last week I found out about a project by BloomNation, which is a company that showcases local florist's beautiful flower arrangements online.

They invited me to browse through their Pinterest board for inspiration and then wanted me to share how I incorporate floral trends in my home. These pictures I found on their board are so gorgeous!

For now I have little space to work with and so I usually decorate with flowers to brighten them up! They add so much life and charm to our cozy home.
Our island is the center of our kitchen and I always have flowers there and it brings the focus to the center of the room.

Do you change the flowers you decorate with when the seasons change?
