Floral Trends in the Home

Last week I found out about a project by BloomNation, which is a company that showcases local florist's beautiful flower arrangements online.

They invited me to browse through their Pinterest board for inspiration and then wanted me to share how I incorporate floral trends in my home. These pictures I found on their board are so gorgeous!

For now I have little space to work with and so I usually decorate with flowers to brighten them up! They add so much life and charm to our cozy home.
Our island is the center of our kitchen and I always have flowers there and it brings the focus to the center of the room.

Do you change the flowers you decorate with when the seasons change?

What I Wore {14} Pink Floral Skirt

*This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting this blog!

Shirt: Old Navy
Shoes: Old (Scalloped heel option, Wedge option)
White shirt: Downeast
Cardigan: Similar, Similar
Shoes:Old (Scalloped heel option, Wedge option)

I was all ready to take outfit pictures last week and the lighting wasn't working for me, so I ended up just taking pictures of the outfit. I wore this skirt yesterday with the striped shirt and loved the way the outfit turned out! I am getting used to pattern mixing and I'm really starting to like it! When I got home from church I changed from my skirt into my camo lounge pants, two pattern mixes in one day! That's a record!

On Friday, we found out my husband's test score from last Saturday and it was better than he thought it would be. (I knew he would do well!) He still wants a better score though, so he's already started studying for the test in six months.

This weekend, to celebrate and have a break from everything, we went to the beach with some dental school friends. We all got sun burnt, sand is every where, but we still had lots of fun! I hope your Monday is great!

What I Wore {10} + Weekend Recap

Welcome to another edition of What I Wore! My weekend recap will be at the bottom of the post:)

You might recognize this outfit from last week's post. This floral shirt has been on repeat ever since I got it and has been one of my favorites this spring/summer.
For me it is hard to find long. modest shorts in stores. I had some jeans given to me that were too long, so I cut and made them into shorts and they work great!
Of course, wedges are an essential summer shoe in my book!
 Shirt- Old Navy
Shorts- Cut off jeans
Wedges- Kohl's
Bracelet- Forever 21

WEEKEND RECAP

Our Fourth of July weekend started on Friday, July 3rd! My husband didn't have school, so we went swimming! Baby B has gotten used to his floaty and now loves having Dad pull him around in it. That night we went to fireworks and Baby B just wanted to run around in the dark!
On Saturday we went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. This is one of the places on our Richmond bucket list and we got in for free that day, so double win!
Butterflies were everywhere and would land on people. It was really humid that day and it was extremely humid in the exhibit so we didn't stay in there that long, but Baby B loved trying to touch them!
That night we had some friends over and watched more fireworks! Baby B sat still for these ones a lot better than the night before!
It was a very successful weekend!

What was your favorite part of your weekend?

Flowers with Floral

Shirt- Thrift Store
Belt- Downeast Basics warehouse sale
Skirt- Given to me a few years ago
Shoes- Dillard's

This was my outfit I wore to church on Sunday. With Baby B being sick I ended up going to church alone. Most of the time I dress for comfort on Sundays because let's face it, you wrestle your children to keep them sitting still and it's not an easy task. This last week though was so nice to just sit there and know that my clothes were going to stay in the right place!

Happy Friday! It's once again almost the weekend! YAY! Here are my picks for Fashion Friday and my Top 5 Favorite things of the week!
These floral tops are perfect for warm, springy days!
The first three are rather spendy but I couldn't resist adding them to the favorites list! The rest are $25 each or less! My favorite are #3 and #8!

This week I attended a DoTerra essential oil class and I finally bought some! I had been debating whether or not to spend the money on them, but Baby B was sick this week. Its the worst having a toddler with a cold and there are no medicines to give them for their cough and congestion. I ended up getting the Home Essentials Kit which comes with a diffuser. I've heard great things about the OnGaurd and Breathe oils and can't wait to try them!

I'd love to hear your experiences with essential oils! What oils do you love and how/when do you use them?
Baby B had so much fun in the shopping cart at Home Depot yesterday! He is a true boy; loving all cars and balls!

These beautiful flowers at Home Depot made me want my own yard...Some day!:)
The smell also made me think of my parent's and grandparent's houses and all the flowers that they have planted there.

On Monday night we had a "practice" Easter egg hunt for Baby B and he caught on quickly with what to do with the eggs! He also realized that the eggs opened!
I'm really excited for our real Easter egg hunt tomorrow! He will have a blast!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and a Happy Easter!
