Meet Baby C!

I was so bad at documenting this pregnancy but I still wanted to share Baby C's birth story because I love reading them and I know many of you do too!

**********

I woke up on February 20th not at all thinking that I would go into labor anytime soon - I thought I would have at least a week or two before having another baby. E woke up at his normal early hour and we were in the living room watching a show and I started having cramp-like contractions that started at 6:30am. B woke up around 7:00am and I went to the bathroom after getting them breakfast and noticed thick discharge and blood. I texted my husband and told him to keep his phone by him and I called the hospital to see what I should do about the bleeding.

They said I was probably in the early stages of labor and not to come in unless my contractions picked up or the bleeding got worse. Contractions came and went, sometimes being 3-5 minutes apart and then almost 10 minutes apart. That went on until 3:00ish when they started to pick up again and became a lot more painful. The boys went with the some friends to a preschool activity and we decided to go to the hospital at 4:00pm just to see what was going on.

We got to the hospital and went to triage. They checked me and I was only at a 1cm....I was so mad that I was only that far along! They were going to let us stay and walk the halls because it wasn't my first baby and they thought things would progress faster. The baby’s heartbeat started dropping a little with each contraction so they had me stay in bed and checked me again at 6:45pm and I was at 3cm.

Contractions got pretty unbearable soon after and I was dying to get some medication/ the epidural ASAP!!! They finally admitted me and took us to a room at 7:30pm. The anesthesiologist was already there waiting for me, I just had to sign a few consent forms and was told the risks of getting an epidural when I "supposedly" was only at 3cm when I knew I wasn't!  I still demanded to get one and I'm so glad I did! The epidural was placed at 8:10pm, my water broke (more like went gushing everywhere) at 8:30pm and baby girl quickly came at 8:54pm! She weighed 6 lbs 12.5 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

We love you Baby C!

Random Pictures from our NYC trip!

Hey everyone!

I'm finally getting around to sharing some pictures from our NYC trip! We packed so much into the two full days we were there and were exhausted by the end, but it was so worth it! It was so fun to see all of these places in person!

Where is Spring?!? + Life Update

This winter has lasted forever! I thought it would start warming up this month but we've gotten FOUR nor'easters in the past three weeks, with the last two bringing snow!

We found out recently that B will be in school full time next year and I'm feeling a little stressed to make sure I teach him everything he needs to know to go out in the world. Does anyone else feel this way when their oldest starts school?? My husband also commented on how once he starts school, he'll be going for the next 20+ years....that seems like so long!

Baby E is looking like a toddler more and more every day! He's getting stockier and taller, can roar like a lion (it's the funniest thing), and is always into trouble!

My husband and I are both ready for intern year to be done. Only three months left of this craziness and then hopefully it will calm down!

B:
1) Can write his name!
2) Raisins are his new favorite fruit/snack.

Hubby:
1) Made B some armor (helmet, shield, sword) out of cardboard that B loves.

3) Enjoys cooking/baking and loves to try new recipes.

Myself:
1) Loves watching the Olympics!

3) Hair is long enough to fit in a ponytail. I can't decide if I should cut it or let it keep growing?!? Help me!

Day in the Life

Here's a look at a random Thursday in our lives!

6:30 My alarm goes off but I end up pushing snooze a couple times. I stay in bed and check emails/social media until I hear Baby E wake up.

7:00 Breakfast and a TV show for the boys

8:00 I get ready for the day with my cute "helper."

9:00 I get ready to host preschool at our house and clean up a little.

10:00 Preschool time!

12:20 Lunch

12:45 Nap time/ Quiet time/ Me time which was catching up on The Bachelor.

2:20 Baby E wakes up and we run some errands.

3:30 B gets to watch another TV show and I prep dinner, plan next week's meals, and get preschool stuff ready for next week.

4:15 I help B practice writing letters and Baby E practices his new trick of climbing onto the kitchen table.

5:00 Dinner time- I didn't end up cooking what I had planned because Baby E's witching hour and my husband wasn't home yet, so we ate leftovers.

5:45 Bath time, teeth brushing, and story time.

6:30 B goes to bed. (He usually doesn't go to bed this early but he was tired and wanted to go to bed. He also doesn't nap anymore so he usually falls asleep quickly.)

6:45 Baby E goes to bed once B has fallen asleep.

7:00 Read a couple pages of a book and scriptures with my husband.

7:20 I work on a blog post and a Shutterfly book for B while watching NCIS.

10:30 Bed time!
