Candy Christmas Trains

You all know how much B loves trains. Well one day we were talking about the Christmas tree ornaments and I got this grand idea to make our own ornaments that B could move around whenever he wanted. Right now all of the ornaments in his reach have been moved to the bottom branch of the tree!

Anyways I was looking on Pinterest for a cool ornament craft and I came across the cute candy trains made from a roll of Lifesavers and other candy. I decided to bag the ornament making and started my list for train supplies!

It was a hit! B played with that train all day and the next. Then he realized he could eat the candy and that was the end of it!:)
It was fun while it lasted!

Fashion Friday// Watches

Happy Friday!!
I have been on the hunt for a cute watch because I've decided that I need to wear one so I don't have to always be looking at my phone. Because lets be real, you look at your phone for the time and ten minutes later you still haven't figured out what time it is yet! :)

This watch that I have now doesn't work, it needs a new battery. I also feel like it only goes well with darker outfits.
The watches I found are all so adorable! I want all of them, so I need you're help with deciding which one is the prettiest!  They are also all under $25 each! (Click on the watch you are interested in for more info).

I follow Merrick's Art and it's a style blog that I love! Earlier this week she wrote 8 Steps to Finding your Personal Style and I cannot stop thinking about this post! It is helping me figure out what my personal style is. It's a great read!

These Crunch bars are AMAZING!  My friend had bought these and let me try some to show me how great they are! Fast forward a week and we were at Costco and I had a box in my hand and last minute decided to not get them because I would eat them all in a day!
Then on Monday we went back to Costco and I'm a week into not eating sweets (except for one small thing a day) and there are only four boxes of these Crunch bars left! They are limited edition so I had to get them! I swore that I would only eat one a day and I've stuck to it so far! Seriously if you can get your hands on them they are so good!
These are some cards I made with my Silhouette and I think they turned out so cute and were really simple!

Baby B loves to read. We keep his books  accessible to him and often we will find him looking a them. The stairs are his favorite places to read:)

Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day!

Baby food pancakes

My mother-in-law sent me this pin on Pinterest for baby food pancakes.

My little one is starting to transition to all real food. Of course, we have lots of leftover cereals and jarred food that need to be used. He also loves to feed himself and these are perfect to cut in strips and let him go to town!
Baby B loves these pancakes and eats them almost daily! I don't think they taste very good....but he doesn't need to know that!

Here is my version of the recipe:

1 egg
1 cup flour
3/4 cup baby cereal-I have used multigrain and oatmeal
1 tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup baby food-I've used sweet potato, applesauce, and other mixed fruit jars
Add water until you reach desired consistency.

Enjoy!

Holiday Treats

Growing up I remember my Grandma making chocolates during the holidays.
Here is a wonderful treat to make for your friends and neighbors this Christmas season! It was really simple and something that your kids can help you with.
 Enjoy!

Thanksgiving

I had never spent a Thanksgiving away from family until last year, when we were thousands of miles away at dental school. I didn't want my ideal Thanksgiving to change, which was being around family, eating familiar foods, and just knowing what to expect on this day of thanks.

Once again, we will be away from our family for Thanksgiving but it's kind of exciting knowing that we get to plan what we are doing, who we are celebrating with, and what food we are eating. That makes this time away even more special.

We have made some great friends, who we will be with on Thanksgiving, and we definitely consider them family.

One of the dishes that my husband grew up eating on Thanksgiving was Corn Casserole, and we have continued this tradition of having it at our Thanksgiving feast.

Corn Casserole
1 cube butter-melted
1 can corn, drained
1 can creamed corn, not drained
1 box Little Jiffy corn muffin mix
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1-8 oz. sour cream

Combine all ingredients in 9x9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.
Enjoy!
