Holiday Travel Capsule Wardrobe {Week THREE}

Welcome to my final post of this series! I'm a little late getting this post up because of the holiday craziness, but here it is! Here's also the past two posts from this series:

I'm not going to lie but I started missing my other clothes during this trip, but this capsule wardrobe was great for having extra luggage space. I wish that I had included more warmer clothes...I guess I had forgotten how cold Idaho can be!

Anyways, I'm so glad I did this travel capsule wardrobe! If your interested in learning more about them, Jo-Lynne just recently did a post on capsule wardrobes and it's a very good read. I also did a capsule wardrobe for moms a couple months ago that you should check out!

Holiday Travel Capsule Wardrobe {Week TWO}

Last Monday I shared my first week of outfits for this capsule wardrobe series and I'm happy to say it's so nice having all of my outfits planned out for the week! We are finally with our families and it's so nice to be home! My husband is at an externship right now, so it's great to have extra hands helping with Baby B.

My favorite outfit for this next week is the striped dress! It's so pretty and so comfortable, because you all know how I am about comfort! I have had to wear a coat every day since coming out West because it's a lot colder out here than it is in Virginia. We actually never wore our coats this winter until we got here! I would much rather be in the cold though so I'm not complaining!

Holiday Travel Capsule Wardrobe {Week ONE}

Hello again! Whenever we travel out West for the holidays, it's usually for 2-3 weeks. There isn't very much room in our bags for a separate outfit for each day and presents. That's why I came up with this Holiday Travel Capsule Wardrobe! It should make packing for this year's trip a lot easier for all of us! All you'll need to pack is three pairs of pants, one skirt, two cardigans, eight shirts, and four pairs of shoes!

While creating this capsule wardrobe I had to take into consideration that it's a lot colder where we are headed. I made sure to incorporate scarves, sweaters, clothes that can be layered, and close-toed shoes.

My favorite outfit from week one is the floral shirt with blue cardigan! You've got to love a pop of color on a dreary winter day!

Capsule Wardrobe: Striped Dress + What I Learned

Hello everyone! We made it to the last four outfits of my capsule wardrobe! I hope you enjoyed seeing all of the outfits I made with 12 articles of clothing and hope I inspired you to make your own capsule wardrobe!

To see all of the outfits here are the post links:

 I learned many things while making this capsule wardrobe and wanted to highlight a few of the main things I learned.

1- You can make so many outfits with a few key items. I really didn't realize how many outfits I could make with my clothes. The 12 pieces aren't the only clothes in my closet, so I could probably wear a different outfit every day of the year!

2- Feeling good about yourself. It's more important to feel good about yourself in your style, than to always be wearing the current trend. It's hard not to get caught up in trends, but they don't always look good on all body types.

3- Capsule wardrobes simplify your life! It takes the guesswork out of getting dressed in the morning and leaves you with more time to do other things, like maybe trying a new hairstyle or applying more makeup. :)

4- Adding in items. Don't get discouraged if you start getting tired of your wardrobe. You can always swap out different shirts, skirts, dresses, or jeans. Always remember to accessorize! That keeps outfits new and exciting!

I would love to see your capsule wardrobes! Send me a link by email or in the comments below!

Capsule Wardrobe: Jeans

Today I'm sharing some true "momiforms" from my capsule wardrobe. I would honestly wear sweat pants everywhere if it was socially acceptable, but it's not so the next best option is jeans! I only have a couple of examples shown here but there are a nearly endless number of options when you style jeans with tops and accessories.
What is your "momiform" that you wear daily? Are jeans part of it?

Capsule Wardrobe: Black Skirt

Happy Monday! Welcome back to my capsule wardrobe series! I'm so excited to continue showing you my outfits that I created with 12 articles of clothing.

Many of you may be wondering if a capsule wardrobe is necessary and what type of person might benefit from doing one.
A capsule wardrobe can simplify your life and save you time in the morning! Anyone can make one! And of course you don't have to go to the extreme and throw out all of the other clothes you aren't currently using. You can always mix those clothes in from time to time.

If you are wanting to make mornings less hectic and stay stylish, then this may be a great decision for you!

I love that you can make this black skirt dressy, just by tucking in your shirt!

I can't wait for you to come back on Wednesday for some "momiforms!"

Capsule Wardrobe: White Pants

On Monday I began my capsule wardrobe series. To read what a capsule wardrobe is and why I started one click HERE!

You may be wondering how to start a capsule wardrobe. Start by thinking about the shirts that you feel your best in and that compliment your body. Then think about two pairs of pants you like or would wear out. You're already on your way to making your own capsule wardrobe!

I picked these white pants for mine because they can be dressed up or down and go with all tops! You do have to be more cautious wearing them if you have kids, but you risk getting any clothes dirty with kids!

Capsule Wardrobe: 12 pieces - 23 outfits

One of my followers recently wrote to me and explained that she was expecting her third child in a few months and was needing a whole new wardrobe for her post-baby body. She doesn't have a big budget for clothes and asked me to do a capsule wardrobe for moms in order to give her ideas to expand her wardrobe inexpensively. I gladly accepted her challenge and hope this can give her and other readers some good ideas on stretching their budget and wardrobe!

First off, some of you may be wondering, "what is the purpose of a capsule wardrobe?" It's when you have a collection of clothes that can be mixed and matched in multiple ways to adapt to different seasons and events. This makes getting dressed in the morning less time consuming and will help you save money on clothes without compromising your style.

With this capsule wardrobe, I used 12 articles of clothing, not including shoes, or accessories(scarves, belts, necklaces, watches) and made 23 different outfits! I'm sure these 12 pieces could make more outfits, especially if you added more accessories.

I'll link up all of the main clothing items below!
