Thursday Thought: Being Grateful

We sometimes think that being grateful is what we do after our problems are solved, but how terribly shortsighted that is. How much of life do we miss by waiting to see the rainbow before thanking God that there is rain?

Being grateful in times of distress does not mean that we are pleased with our circumstances. It does mean that through the eyes of faith we look beyond our present-day challenges.

(Taken from the talk called "Grateful in any Circumstances" by Dieter F Uchtdurf)

  1. This is so very true. And many times the best times of being grateful is during a storm because only then can you see a glimpse of God's work.

  2. I love this sentiment. And YES, we need to be more grateful for the things around us, and try to see the positive, even in a situation that isn't ideal.

  5. YES! I love this and it is 100% true. It speaks a lot about a person when they can be their best, even when they're surrounded by their worst! Loved this! XO -Kim
